Hi, I've used the YouTube video import function several times - successfully. But, with the latest release, it seems that it won't import any YouTube videos - even those which were previously imported successfully. Isi it possible there's an option which needs to be set somewhere to get the videos to import? Thanks, Ron

Hi Ron,
Looks like YouTube changed something on the 17th April. We will look at getting this fixed as soon as possible.
It's been reported to the author of the component we use to download YouTube videos and hopefully we will have a fix soon. They have just released a new version to pre-alpha and hopefully we can integrate it into Song of Songs in the next couple of days and release a new version on Monday. We will keep you updated.
Sorry about this, but it's out of our hands until a updated component is available.
Regards,
Gordon.

Thanks for your quick response. I found a work-around for now. I used a download tool to convert the video to .mp4 format, and that worked ok. Ron

A couple of questions, how does the youtube work legally, as the terms of service disallow the downloading of their content. youtube has limited permissions to show in Church unless permission from the content owner is granted. Can you not stream direct from the url for content that is allowed? thanks mark

Hi Mark, Thanks for bringing that up. Good question - and one that had slipped my mind. Need to do this the right way. Ron

Having this weeks service with a couple of allowed youtube videos (Hillsong & We Are Worship), and with me not being at Church, which started me looking for youtube integration in song software and finding Song of Songs, we use Openlp. I then had to dig a bit and found this powerpoint add-in that works superb. https://www.liveslides.com/It adds a tab to powerpoint, you add the URL and it streams inside powerpoint, it takes a couple of seconds to start, but it automatically plays full screen and stops at the end of the video. So makes it alot easier. Hope this helps as a good work around.
