I and my colleagues have now downloaded Song of Songs onto three different computers but we don't see the same list of songs in the library to choose from.
On my own laptop I have 2413 songs and hymns listed when I load SoS however on a second and third laptop my colleagues can only see around 250 songs (can't remember the exact number they told me). How can they get the full list of 2413 to show up on their devices?

Hi David,

By default, SOS installs about 200+ on the first install.

If you want to install our Public Domain songs, which is an extra 2000+ , menu > Tools > Download Resources - then click 'Public Domain Vol 1'

Other options include coping your Song Library from your computer to your colleagues, (which by default can be found at c:\songofsongs\data\songlibrary\ )

Regards,

Gordon

Thanks, that seems straightforward solution.
We also have the entire CH4 hymnary as a downloaded file ( bought from Canterbury Press) and can copy the text for any hymn from there. What is the best way to add one of these hymns into a service. I have taken a song from the S o S library and replaced the text with that copied from the CH4 software. Is there a better way to do this?

There possible is, but i'm not familiar with the CH4 hymnary, but i could have a look and see how easy it is to convert it to the Song of Song format.

The best way would be to create new songs rather than replace existing ones as they may be overridden as they have unique id when they were created.

If you send me the digital file to support@songofsongs.co.uk and i'll have a look converting it for you. If you only use select songs/hymns then it might be better to remove all the current songs and only use the ones from your hymnal. Different churches work in different ways. Some like to have a huge collection of songs, other only add the songs they use.

Our church often changes songs at the last minute, others know which songs they use months in advance.

Regards,

Gordon
