Hi, this one is following a question asked by the vicar, and finding there did not seem to be anything in Song of Songs that would do it - though I am not sure any of your rivals do either :)

You have a music player option, and options for media files, but there does not seem to be an option to be able to control a DVD from Song of Songs - it can obviously be done externally, but it would be handy to not have to change from Song of Songs into the DVD software, and back into Song of Songs.

Hi tempus275,

Your actually the first to ask about DVD control, this currently is not on the road map, mainly due to people not using DVD's as much any more, as well as the trend that laptops & computers actually don't come with them now by default.

What we can suggest is to rip DVD's using HandBrake (can be found here https://handbrake.fr/ ) and then use Microsoft Movie Maker or similar to get the clip you want.

We do have a YouTube video import tool, within Song of Songs, and you can normally get any clips you need from YouTube.

In most AV setups that require the use of DVD's we have found that churches are using some sort of video switch or vision mixer in the AV setup to switch inputs between DVD player and computer outputs.

We will have a look in it, and do some research into adding DVD support, but it would be a low priority feature, unless other churches requested it.

Regards,

Gordon.

Hi,

Not a problem at all, it would have useful but not necessary, as you say, its a fading tech.
